Gift to Nature is the flagship conservation project of the Island 2000 Trust, and was set up in 2000. In 2016 the Island 2000 Trust charity took on the management of most of the Isle of Wight Council’s countryside estate, to add to its own existing Gift to Nature sites.
Current projects are usually to be found on the appropriate site page. This page gives an overview of some past projects.
Recent Gift to Nature projects include working with Newport Parish Council and the Suez Community Trust to deliver a £38,000 scheme to allow local people to enjoy Pan Mill Meadows, Newport; and thanks to funding from the Postcode Lottery Trust, Ryde Town Council, and Tesco Bags for Help there has been a £33,000 programme of improving paths and managing scrub at Pig Leg Lane, Ryde.
These are some of the projects we have been involved with in the past.
